In homoeopathy it is very important that medicines are not given often.
This idea comes from the thoughts of Samuel Hahnemann.
Core Concept
Homoeopathic remedies work by helping the body heal itself. When we take the remedy, it keeps working for some time. If we take it again and again it can actually make things worse of better.
Why we should not take remedies too often
If the body gets too much stimulation, it can make the symptoms worse. We can also get symptoms that are not real. It can also stop the remedy from working which means we will not get better. If we take the remedy often our body can get used to it and it will not work as well.
Hahnemannian View
According to the Organon of Medicine: We should. See what happens after taking a remedy. We should only take it again when we stop getting better. We should not take it again when we are already getting better. Practical Clinical Rule If we are very sick, we might need to take the remedy soon. If we are sick for a time, we should not take the remedy too often. We should always check: If we are getting better, we should not take it again. If we are not getting better, we might need to take it If we are getting worse we should. Take something to make it better.
Simple Line for Practice
The thing to do is to take the "right remedy, minimum dose, least repetition". This way we can get quickly and for good which is what homoeopathy is all, about.
